The
Importance of
Sparring
Sparring is an important component in our training.
While students may opt not to spar, we find it extremely
beneficial to the learning process.
You can
learn every technique in the book in a static setting
but you won’t be able to apply them properly unless you
practice those techniques during a live sparring match.
Sparring is not a “fight”, sparring is a resistance
based training tool that allows the student to apply the
techniques and concepts they have learned into a
realistic situation.
Sparring will give the student the opportunity to
develop timing, reaction speed, personal game
development, ability to utilize their knowledge under
pressure and much more. If the
student wants to develop his or her training to the
higher levels, then the sparring component needs to be
included. Sparring makes your training three-dimensional
and also gives it that edge needed during real life
encounters.
